Worship at St. John’s is very important. We have a beautiful and historic sanctuary that offers a very worshipful experience, but also is very warm and welcoming. Sermons are biblically based and relevant to today, proclaiming both law and gospel in the best of the Lutheran tradition, with a central focus on the good news of what God has done for us in Christ Jesus our Lord. We have three worship services – a more informal service on Thursday evenings and traditional services on Sunday morning at 8 and 10:30. Our choir rotates between the two Sunday services, and communion is currently offered the 2nd and last Sundays of the month. The Thursday service follows the readings and communion schedule of the next Sunday. Special worship services occur during Lent, and on other special occasions. We are currently looking into alternative worship expressions specifically designed to meet the needs of families with young children to begin this Fall. |
